How do you say "Jesus does" in creole?

This definitely will have to be translated within context.

  1. I'm guessing that this is in response to a statement like "No one loves me" or "No one cares about us"

Just in general I think you could say:

Jezi fè sa (Jesus does that/this)

    1. Wi mèsi :)
Yes, in general you could say that. It does work in a majority of sentences.
The fact that H. Creole does not have these types of auxiliaries makes it hard to translate a sentence like that without the context in mind.
      Chapo ba.

  2. It's hard for us Americans to not be literal because we assume the context clues are the same. You know I've been studying like crazy for 8 months and I'm just now getting there. :)

It is also a great advantage, seeing the language from YOUR point of view, as you have more than once suggested answers in the comment section that I would have not thought of.
    So, keep it up.

  4. Yes! thank you so much! Im trying to figure it out in different contexts such as the one you mentioned- Jesus does as in he loves when other people dont. and also the kind of context where you cant do something, Jesus can. Another one I was pondering on was when people say things God doesn't want people who are worn out and have made mistakes before I want a way to say thats not true and that jesus does. I think what you suggested works though!

  5. Yes, Mr Wendel's idea works for the majority of verbs. And if you come upon an auxiliary verb like can, dwe, etc... you may also add it to that same pattern.

    examples:

    1. Lòt moun pa renmen'w san kondisyon, men Jezi fè sa.
Other people don't love you unconditionally, but Jesus does.

    2. Lòt moun pa kapab sove'w, men Jezi kapab.
    or
Lòt moun pa kapab sove'w, men Jezi kapab fè sa.
Other people can't save you, but Jesus can.

    3. Lòt moun p'ap padone'w, men Jezi va padone'w
Lòt moun p'ap padone'w, men Jezi va fè sa.
Other people won't forgive you but Jesus will.

    4. Yo di Bondye pa asepte moun ki plen fot lakay yo, men se pa vre.
They say that God doesn't accept people who are full of faults in them, but that's not true.
